Tory Island Ferry Out For Annual Survey at Mooney Boats Ltd

The Tory Island Ferry the “Tormor” was up at Mooney Boats Ltd yard recently for her annual survey. It’s hard to believe it has been almost 20 years since the vessel was built by Mooney Boats Ltd. The vessel was lifted out at Mooney Boats Ltd Yard on there 75 Ton boat hoist which is the largest in Ireland on the 8th April 2011

She was washed outside and then taken inside the yard where Gerard Bray and sons completely repainted the vessel and did not have to worry about the weather conditions. Mooney Boats Ltd supplied the Jotun & Clarke paint system for the vessel and they also fitted new Mc Duff anodes. The yard also removed the tailsafts for inspection and supplied and fitted new cutlass bearing in the tube. Other minor maintenance jobs were also completed on the vessel

After inspection by Robert O Brien from the Marine Survey Office was completed the vessel was put back in the water on the 18th April 2011.
