Mooney Boats Ltd Complete Refit On MFV “James Collins“

The MFV James Collins owned by Jonathan O Donnell has just received a refit by Mooney Boats Ltd. The vessel arrived in the Killybegs on the 6^th November 2010 and was lifted out at the yard. The vessel washed from top to btm and then taken inside the yard for repairs. A new 316l S/S tail shaft was manufactured by Mooney Boats Ltd and fitted along with a new propeller and cutlass bearing. The vessel had new wiring installed on the mast along with Navigation lights and deck lights. New anodes were fitted to the underside of the hull. Inside the bulwarks was fitted with 12mm Nylon sheeting to allow the pots to be shoot more easily. The engine was re-aligned and there was also work done to the live well crab tanks. There were some minor repairs to some steel work in various areas and the vessel was then completely painted from top to bottom inside and out with a Jotun & Clarke paint system supplied by Mooney Boats Ltd and applied by Gerard Bray & Sons. When all work was complete the vessel was put back in the water on the 18^th November.
