MFV Iuda Naofa on Syncrolift at Mooney Boats Ltd.

 MFV IUDA NAOFA SO 679

Mooney Boats Ltd brought the “MFV Iuda Naofa” up on the Synchrolft in Killybegs on the 21st July 2011. Mooney Boats Ltd built the blocks took the vessel on the Synchrolfit, carried out work several jobs on the vessel which included fitting a new Lifeline Post on the main deck, new set of MG Duff anodes repairs to hatches and the yard also removed the Keel Cooler for the main auxiliary engine as Martin wanted the seals in the cooler replaced.

It was the first time since the vessel was built over 30 years ago, that the cooler was taken off. The bolts holding on the cooler were like the first day they went in and the actual cooler itself was in perfect condition. It was stripped down in the yard and new rubber seals were made especially by a company in the UK and fitted back into the cooler. It was reassembled and pressure tested in the yard before it was put back on the vessel.

Other work which was done on the vessel was a complete new paint Job which was carried out by Gerard Bray & Sons and as the pictures below show the vessel looks as good as she did 30 years ago. The vessel was put back in the water on the 4th August.
