MFV FRAGRANT CLOUD on Syncrolift at Mooney Boats Ltd

The “MFV FRAGRANT CLOUD DA 48” from Clougherhead owned by Tony Kirwan up at Mooney Boats Ltd. Tony contacted the yard in early September to see if they could lift out his vessel as he was fishing on the west coast and there was some bad weather forecast and he thought he would avail of the facility in Killybegs were the vessel could be lifted out on the synchrolift and then taken inside the repair shed where weather would not be a factor. The vessel was lifted out on the 9th September when she was washed by Mooney Boats Ltd before she was taken inside the following day. While the vessel was in the yard they fitted a new limpet housing on the hull, they checked seacock’s, shaft lift and clearance, marked load line and also supplied and fitted a complete new MG Duff anode system. The yard also carried out some aluminum welding on the wheelhouse roof and then Gerard Bray & Sons painted the vessel from top to bottom with a Jotun & Clarke paint system which was supplied by Mooney Boast Ltd. The vessel was re-launched on the 14th September.
