Clogherhead Brothers David & Niall Kirwan Dry-dock their 3 vessel in Mooney Boats Ltd

Clogherhead Brothers David & Niall Kirwan chose Mooney Boats Ltd to Dry-dock their 3 vessels MFV Ambitious, MFV Virtuous & MFV Courageous. The Mfv Virtuous was the first to go up on the Synchrolfit on the 15^th December. The vessel was washed and then painted by Kerry Mick. She also had all her anodes changed and some steel repair works carried out by the yard and was put off the Synchrolift on the 21^st December.

The second vessel the Mfv Courageous was lifted out of the water on the 21^st December and as she was a sister ship of the Virtuous she could go straight on to her blocks which saved the vessel owners some time and money on having to build new blocks. Again this vessel was washed and then painted by Kerry Mick over the Christmas break and the weather was not a factor as the boat was inside the covered repair bat at the yard. She also had all her anodes changed and some steel repair works carried out by the yard and was put off the Synchrolift on the 5^th January 2011.

David and Niall`s 3^rd vessel the Mfv Ambitious was lifted out on the Synchrolfit on the 9^th January 2011. Again the vessel was washed and painted and new anodes were supplied and fitted. Mooney Boats Ltd also carried other work on this vessel which included taking of the propeller blades and fitted new ones. The oil was drained from the hub and new oil put in. Mooney Boats Ltd also carried out steel repairs and replacement works on the vessel in various areas. The Mfv Ambitious was put of the Synchrolfit on the 18^th January 2012.
